Mmmm...Fall...

Can I just say, I love Falltime, it is my favorite season nestling my favorite holiday within it...Thanksgiving. I enjoy growing my own decorations for this season (except for the crysanthemums).

I feel it appropriate to add an update on the fowls in our yard knowing that most of the blog readers are not into animal husbandry or hatchery practices. Speaking of which, are there any relatives or friends out there, the local ones, that would want to buy fresh eggs for $3.25 a dozen before I put my sign out by the road advertising such?
New to the yard are three Bantams, a male Sebright, a female Silky and a female Blue Wyandotte.

I like how the silky looks fury instead of feathery and her coloring is nice with blue ears.

I also added the Rhode Island Red rooster.

The colors on the Sex Links that I have are brillant.

So, enjoy your Autumn months that come with brisk air, lots of falling leaves (to rake) and a sip of fresh apple cider.

Our Grandson

It has been a long week, exactly a week. My daughter, Robin, and I went in last Tues. for a routine check of her pregnancy, of which she was in her fourth month, and found that there was no heart beat. She was hospitalized and over the course of the next 56 hours she delivered. Today we buried the little guy, Nathaniel Micheal. All a mom can do is hope that her baby is okay and that life hasn't dealt such a hard blow that she will be eternally sad. In the course of all this we have rubbed shoulders with others that have had my daughters best interest always in the forefront and I thank them for their strength and speaking into her life only adding to all my well wishes for her. And my son-in-law...Wow! Thanks Nate for loving and supporting her, please continue to take care of her and cherishing her. My husband and I will never forget little Nathaniel and the place he will always have in our family.
