With aviation boiling in our blood, Becky and I decided to build a plane of our own! We took a trip to Van's Aircraft in Aurora, Oregon and flew in the RV-7a as well as the RV-10. Realizing that our desire was more for cross-country rather than "Gentleman's Aerobatics", we opted to start building the 4-seater RV-10 (http://www.vansaircraft.com/public/models.htm) knowing it would take much longer due to it's size, complexity, and most of all, cost. Although most builders construct their planes at home in their garages or shops, we settled in at Lenhardt's Airpark in Hubbard, about 30 minutes from home (http://www.infoviva.com/lenhardt/). We enjoy every minute out there and have made some good friends.

We've finished the Rudder (in picture laying on it's side, temporarily assembled with "clecos"), Horizontal Stabilizer and Elevators. Currently (July '06), we're working on the tailcone. This is the part of the aircraft from the tail end as far forward as the rear window.
